The history of the swing

2021-07-20
Swings originated from ethnic minorities in northern China and were introduced to central China during the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC). In the Han Dynasty (206 BC-220 AD), swinging was very popular as an entertainment activity and became the designated program of Qingming Festival (Ching Ming Festival) or Dragon Boat Festival (Dragon Boat Festival). Formerly known as Qianqiu, or Qianqiu, during Emperor Wu of the Han Dynasty, the name of the swing was derived from a phrase on the birthday of the royal family; later, these two words were replaced with swings, which is still used today.

By the Song Dynasty (960-1279), swinging had become a popular performing art, when professional acrobats performed a bold feat called swing on water from swings installed on the decks of two independent cruise ships. With the sound of music, an acrobat climbed up and down from a high pole fixed to the stern, while another acrobat performed tricks on a swing, and finally both turned over into the water.

Swinging became an official event of the National Minority Games in February 1986 and has now become a common plaything for children.
